Tribute to Chris George, 1947 - 2026

I met Chris at Avery Hill in 1968 and he, together with other members of Hunter Muskett, became good friends travelling around the folk clubs of the South East initially in his custom painted VW camper van. Over time and distance we saw less of one another, I only managed to get to Lincolnshire once. When HM re-emerged they came and stayed with us in Sussex before Chris stopped playing. We also met up at the Llyn Guitar festival in North Wales together with Mu. Chris was a great person, shrewd in his observations with a quick, dry sense of humour. He was a perfectionist in his guitar playing and building, generous of his time and fun to be with. A sad departure from a full life.
